Stairs, stairs, stairs. Here the view from outside in to the entry.

From the dining room landing up.

and all the way to the top ... you won't need a stairmaster in this house.
The AV crew has started installing the pre-wire for all of the low voltage control systems. 19+ miles of wire will be installed.

Some of the wire.
This mechanical room was to house much of the HVAC system for the center of the house. Now it will be used mostly for the control systems.

The landscapers installed stone steps leading to the various levels around the house. Here seen from the driveway.

The landscape crew is harvesting stones from the property to build beautiful walls along the rear of the house also.

If we had to purchase these rocks they would cost a fortune. The walls will be tiered to hold back the mountain and allow for a row of plantings.

Installation of the exterior stone has begun. The first course is placed on a steel lintel slightly elevated above the concrete to allow for movement of the ground.

The view from the new corner window in the west Master bedroom is amazing.

5 months into construction, the house is taking on a new look.
Everyone was happy to get back to work and the Arrowleaf parking lot was full to capacity.

Pratt Painting's crew has given the eaves a fresh new look.

Meanwhile TLR & Associates' crew has started wrapping the house in preparation for stucco & stone.

The finished Ipe decks have been covered with protective sheeting and OSB board to prevent damage during construction and protect the wood from the elements.

Black Roofing is working on the roof that had to be re-built due to rotting.
The entry staircases are taking shape. Here the first & second set are shown.

Tony is working on the stairs from landing 2 to 3 (the dining room landing).

Greg is starting the stairs leading from landing 2 to the kitchen level.
The leach field has been prepared for seeding with wild grasses.

The line of traffic into Pine Brook Hills the day the evacuation order was lifted was long.

Firefighting helicopters were using Wonderland Lake to fill up with water. The activity was none stop with 7 helicopters, 9 slurry bombers and over 1100 firefighters working the fire. In the end 169 buidlings including 162 homes burned.

It has been a sad few days here in Boulder with a wild fire burning out of control, destroying many homes in the foothills and forcing the evacuation of thousands, including everyone in the Pine Brook hills community. Fortunately, the fire has not reached this community but the power has been off for several days and Linden has been closed. Consequently, noone has been able to reach the job this week.

We took advantage of the down time to visit Bertram at Genesis' impressive mill shop in Loveland. We toured the facility and now have a better understanding of how the cabinets and doors will be built.

The shop uses a number of computerized machines to transform raw wood into the company's beautiful end products.

Last week, John & Tony continued working on the entry with its many landings and staircases.

The first flight of stairs!
This cute bushy-tailed wood rat (aka pack rat) was happily collecting anything the guys left behind at night including a nice assortment of gloves to soften his nest in the crawl space. After the first re-location attempt failed, we moved him to a new home in open space a few miles away.
Jeff is having a good day now that the rat is gone!

The first of 5 Lutron lighting control panels has been installed in the middle mechanical room. All of the white low-voltage wires at the top still need to be connected to their terminals.

The team from Western States Fire Protection is making good progress installing the sprinkler lines.
