Radon mitigation

We took advantage of the opening in the kitchen floor last week to start the radon mitigation process. Eventually, the entire crawl space will be lined and the rock outcroppings covered so that radon cannot penetrate into the house. While the radon test showed levels below normal background , the house was not tight at the time so it makes sense to do this work as a precaution now when access is possible.

New upper windows in the great room are framed in. There will be a beam right between them. The shaft from the volcano to the right will be closed off.

Shoring up the ceiling to receive the header for the wet bar below (to the right of the future fireplace).
